Erection problems? Talk to a doctor, discreetly.

It is more common than you might think, and there is often a clear explanation. A doctor looks at your symptoms, your heart and blood vessels and whatever else is going on, and discusses with you what suits you.

What could be behind it?

An erection needs your blood vessels, nerves and hormones to work together, and your head has to play along too. When something falters, there is often more than one cause.

  • Your body

High blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, being overweight or a medicine can affect blood flow. Sometimes your testosterone plays a part as well.

  • Your mind

Stress, tiredness, low mood or the pressure to perform can get in the way of an erection, even when your body is healthy.

  • The two of you

Distance, unspoken worries or a new relationship can play a part. Talking about it, with each other too, is often a first step.

Good to know. Erection problems can be an early signal of a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. Not for everyone, but it is a reason to also look at your cholesterol and blood sugar. If the doctor considers it useful, this can be done with the BlueTest.

How it works

You start at home, at your own pace, and then speak with a real doctor.

  1. 01

    A confidential intake

You answer questions about your symptoms, how long they have been going on, your health and your medication. Part of it is about your heart and blood pressure, so the doctor can judge properly what is safe.

  2. 02

    A plan that suits you

Based on your answers, you see which treatment we recommend. Would you rather have a different one? Simply tick it yourself.

  3. 03

    A conversation with the doctor

A BIG-registered doctor reviews your answers and your choice, and calls or video-calls you. Together you discuss whether the treatment is safe and suits you.

  4. 04

    Delivered discreetly

Once the doctor approves the treatment, our pharmacy ships it discreetly. After that, you can always turn to our care team with questions.

The intake is no guarantee of treatment. If the doctor does not consider a treatment appropriate, you will receive a full refund.

Questions you might have

What can cause erection problems?

Often it is a combination. Reduced blood flow, diabetes, certain medicines or smoking regularly play a part, as do stress, tiredness or tension in a relationship. In younger men the mind more often takes the lead, in older men more often the body. The doctor looks at the whole picture.

Can stress or relationship problems play a role?

Certainly. Stress, performance anxiety, low mood or tension between you can make an erection difficult, even when your body is healthy. One clue is that it does work in some situations, for example in the morning or when you are alone. The intake asks about this too.

When is a check of my general health useful?

When there are signs of a higher risk of cardiovascular disease or diabetes, for example with high blood pressure, being overweight, smoking or if you have not been checked for a long time. The doctor will then discuss whether a blood test including cholesterol, blood sugar and testosterone is useful.

Might a physical examination be needed?

Sometimes, for example with pain, a curvature or a hard spot in the penis, after pelvic surgery or if your blood pressure is not well known. That cannot be done online. The doctor will then discuss with you how best to arrange it.

Who can see my answers?

Only the doctor and the staff involved in your care. Your answers are used solely for your medical assessment and support, are covered by medical confidentiality and never go to advertising platforms.

Can I get support without medication?

Not everyone needs medication. Sometimes it already helps to understand what is going on, or to change something about sleep, stress, alcohol or exercise. The doctor discusses with you what makes sense in your situation. If the doctor finds a treatment unnecessary or unsuitable, you receive a full refund of the amount paid.

What do I pay for the assessment?

There is no separate fee for the assessment. When you apply, you pay for the treatment the doctor reviews and see that amount before you check out. If the doctor does not consider the treatment appropriate, you get it back in full.

I come too quickly. Can I get help with that too?

Yes. In the same intake you can indicate that premature ejaculation is an issue. The doctor will then discuss with you what suits you.

Important safety information

Treatments for erection problems and premature ejaculation are prescription-only. They are only supplied if a BIG-registered doctor (Dutch medical register) assesses, after your medical intake, that the treatment is safe and suitable for you. A treatment is therefore never guaranteed.

Never use medicines for erection problems together with nitrates (for example for heart conditions) or so-called poppers. Always state your medical history and all medication you use in the intake, and read the patient information leaflet before use. More information is available at apotheek.nl (in Dutch).

If you have chest pain, severe shortness of breath or an erection lasting longer than four hours, call 112 immediately. For side effects or doubts, contact our medical team.
